A top-down view of the DMC-G2
The Panasonic Lumix G2 features a 12.1 megapixel CMOS censor with Panasonic’s intelligent auto mode and movie modes with two formats, Panasonic and Sony’s AVCHD lite recording format which records at 50 fps in the United Kingdom and when bought in America, 60 fps, and motion JPEG which records in 30 fps. Both take videos at 1280 x 720 16:9 HD. The quality of the videos are very good and when plugged into a TV through a mini HDMI cable (not included) you can really make out all of the fine details so I am very happy about that. The problem I sometimes have with recording is the low light quality, it can be noisy sometimes and even when looking at a dark object noise can occur. Also, when I import AVCHD footage into after effects to slow it down, after effects recognises it only as 25 fps so slow motion there is out of the question. Other than that the movie quality is very good. When in the movie setting there are three options for AVC HD recording: AVC SH, AVC H and AVC L, these just mean the speed in mbps. In recording mode L the megabytes per second rate is 9 mbps, in H it is 13 mbps and In SH the mbps is 17.On an 8 gigabyte SD card you will get around 1hour and 58 minutes of recording time in L mode, I hour and 21 minutes in H mode and 1 hour and 2 minutes in SH mode. Why the stupid letters? I cannot begin to understand.

Demonstrating the touchscreen swivelling ability
This camera has an ISO range of 100 to 6400 and lots in-between .It has a total of 19 different ISO values to choose from. An amazing feature about this camera is using the touch screen you can choose where you focus, instead of having set points, you can drag your finger around and focus. Also the touch screen can be swivelled around to all sorts of angles making those hard shots that much easier.

SCN, scene mode for various, well scenery, like: sunset, party, peripheral defocus, baby and pet. Night mode for: night portraits, illuminations and night scenery. Macro mode, for close ups. Sport and action, for fast moving subjects. Landscape for nature and cityscapes.
