Team Fortress 2, also known as "TF2"
Team Fortress is a team-based (obviously) First person shooter game made by the Valve Corporation for the PC, XBOX, and PS3 consoles. Its unique art style and team based gameplay have won it numerous awards, including PC Gamers’ most fun game of the Year Award. In the game, the player can choose from a selection of 9 different classes of Mercenary, who are being hired by two corporations called RED and BLU in an endless war against each other(the teams names count towards their colour) in a variety of different environments(snow, mountains etc.).

TF2 is a very team-oriented game
Team Fortress 2 is a First Person shooter game based heavily on team combat. A balanced mix of the above classes form an effective team that can deal with any situation, depending on their level of teamwork. Without teamwork, the game is still enjoyable, but players will find that they are often working on their own with only occasional input from their teammates. A player playing Team Fortress 2 for the first time has access to a training mode which explains the practical use of 4 of the 9 classes available, as well as offline practice against computer opponents. The game modes vary in style and the way in which they are played; some focus on capturing objectives by remaining immobile at certain points(known as control points) for set amount of times, others focus on moving trains filled with explosives towards enemy territory while offending, and holding back the enemy team if you are the defenders. A variety of game modes are available and make the game playable for any player of any disposition, whether they prefer to fulfil objectives or just mindlessly kill enemies(although there is always some sort of objective to be followed in a map).
Overall the vast repertoire of characters, the variety of achievements (awards awarded according to in-game feats), and vast amounts of unlockables to personalize a character (which includes hats, weapons, and other miscellaneous items), as well as the aforementioned game modes, make a very fun game to play, both for gamers who are hardcore or gamers who like to take things at a slower pace. I can guarantee that it will keep you occupied for a very long time and, if you are a fan of the FPS genre, you will definitely love it. And if that wasn’t good enough, the game is now FREE to play from Valve’s Steam system, and is also playable on both MAC and Windows operating systems.
