Dreamcast sensation Jet Set Radio seems to be making a reboot on XBLA + PSN, according to this new teaser trailer from Sega!
The awesome massive cel-shaded, music-jammed, graffiti-driven, Shibuya graphics-madhouse of a game has been announced by Sega to make an appearance on XBLA + PSN this summer, as fans wait with bated breath to see if Hideki Naganuma's ace soundtrack- that made the game what it is- will be available on the XBLA + PSN ports, in retrospect to the Crazy Taxi HD soundtrack, which omitted ace tunes a la Offspring and Bad Religion. Sega's teaser, seen above, shows nothing apart from the Jet Set Radio (Jet Grind Radio in NA region) logo and a musical excerpt from the orginal game. The newest online report of Nikkei seems to point that Nintendo is planning to revive other publishers' long-lost and forgotten titles on Nintendo 3DS as part of a strategy to establish strong titles for the system, mentioning a strange Sega Dreamcast game by Yoot Saito as an example of this, the 1999 "Seaman".
In a truly odd but exhilarating fashion, Electronic Arts will be launching Mass Effect 3 copies into space using real weather balloons in five different cities across the globe, namely London, Paris, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Berlin, around a week before general release. Each game will have a GPS tracking device attached to it so that intrepid fans will be able to track its trajectory back to Earth at masseffect.com.
Nintendo Acquires Mobiclip 15/02/2012
As of today, Nintendo has acquired the closed-source video codec provider Mobiclip, for the express purpose of using its video compression technology, which has already been used in a variety of Nintendo platforms, i.e Game Boy Advance and selected Nintendo DS titles, on its 3DS and upcoming Wii U consoles. Nintendo announced that they had acquired the Paris-based company with offices worldwide 'last year' and has only just now enlightened the public on the acquisition. 'Tiyuri', one of the Terraria developers, have provided IndieGameMag with some details regarding his next game.
He says that it will be "a mix of diablo, metroid, castlevania, terraria, pokemon + some new stuff no one has ever done before..maybe borderlands too,". Team17 has recently announced that its latest Worms game will come to Europe's PlayStation Store on the 15th of February 2012 for £9.99.
