Dear Filmflux Visitors,

I apologise on behalf of the whole Filmflux.Net team for the very high level of inactivity seen this January regarding posts and updates. This was due to a range of unforseen problems and technical issues, examinations and work with Sam and Harrison regarding the REPLICA project.

We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience that this may have caused you, and we will resume activity immediately. We hope that in February we will have resumed a regular service at Filmflux.Net. However, even when we have been inactive this month, we have still managed to churn up quality instead of quantity with several news articles and high-quality reviews from the likes of Sam and Alex.

Again, on behalf of the Filmflux.Net team, I apologise for the lack of updates- but stay tuned, because they'll all come flooding into your RSS Feed Reader's inbox next month!

~Chris

Hi,

Just a quick update- we've done away with the forums and now they link to the new "Filmflux Social" page, so that it's easier for us to get straight to you on help and support instead of having to spread our resources wide and moderate three different pages- and the fact that our forum had only 10 members, whilst our Facebook page had at least 30 times more people checking it regularly.

So, if you need help from now on, either head to our Facebook or Twitter pages, or head to the Social tab (where you can find the Facebook and Twitter links anyway, and drop comments.)

Over and out!

Hi!
Over the next few weeks and months, I'll be updating Filmflux's Layout and Design, as it is widely known that the current design and layout is not newbie-friendly, nor is it exactly exciting and engaging to everyone else. Taking these into account, I aim to implement, over the next few weeks and months,
  • A Newsletter, released on a regular schedule to keep new visitors and regular followers informed on the cutting-edge of reviews and news.
  • A deep-trawling site search engine to find relevant news posts and quality reviews at the click of a button
  • A whole new, designed-from-the-ground-up website theme with a completely re-imagined layout and re-imagined design
  • A dynamic website template that'll change depending on the content you view- to put it simply, the website's content will revolve around what YOU want to see, instead of the same old boring layout, design and irrelevant content every time you read a post
  • Many more exciting and engaging features to enhance your Filmflux experience!

I'm aware most of those points were clichés, but that's because I've been seeing a helluva lot of those lately. But in this case, they're actually true. So sit tight and witness the changes, which we'll be rolling out gradually over the rest of the year!

Hi,

Chris here, with a message about the lack of updates last month.
Last month, we experienced a wealth of technical issues, which ultimately meant that we couldn't post as often as we liked. Due to many of our members going on holiday/vacation, we also couldn't attain a regular level of posting. However, this month, we will strive to get more updates live as soon as possible!

Just to let you know, we are all back and we will all be updating as much as possible, and as soon as possible from now on! Sorry for the inconvenience.

-Chris

Filmflux is complete! With the arrival of Kiran, we have eight full members of Filmflux, ready to give news, gaming, reviews and tech on demand, every day of the week (and more, hopefully)! So, please make room for Kiran, a guy who likes Britney Spears, reads big books, likes "The Hangover" and "Misfits". Sleeping interests him, too.
Make him feel welcome!

Please welcome a new member to the Filmflux Crew! Harrison is a funny, crazy and fairly philosophical....in his own way. However, he refuses to anything unless you do what he says above. He is inspired by the likes of Charles Darwin and Homer Simpson, an avid follower of musicians such as "My Chemical Romance" and "Sex Bob-Omb" (Who they? -Chris) and likes to read such horrible books like "Of Mice and Men".

So, give him a warm welcome as he starts up, and remember to be awesome!

Hey guys,
Chris here, with amazing news! We've completely updated, revamped and cleaned filmflux. It loads faster, works faster, is easier to browse and is completely reimagined. We've completely changed the way you experience our site, based on both user and administrative feedback from the team, and people across the world. So, let me get to the point. Two very big problems have been rectified.

  • Post Navigation
Many users complained that post navigation was difficult, and reviewers complained that their reviews "floated down the pile" whilst other reviews took their place at the top. This is now rectified.

Solution
Our new home page gives quick and easy access to every review and tutorial, not to mention latest news at a single glance! No more messing around with the categories tab, although it is there if you want to use it. A new flash/HTML5 fallback banner adorns the homepage, treating visitors to an eyeful of candy as they land on the page.

  • Slow Load Times
Complaints were received about the horrendous over 30 second load times on the main blog. This is fixed.

Solution
The new homepage takes a tiny amount of time to load, whilst being newbie-friendly and attractive. The new homepage gives access to a single post at a time, instead of loading everything, then letting you pick and choose. Therefore, load times are cut drastically.

In the future, we will definitely fix many more bugs and errors, but this is just to give you guys an update on the site. Enjoy the new look and layout!

-Chris
