At long last, we have got a glimpse of the future of Microsoft consoles. In a feature which will be likely expanded in the upcoming E3, the confusingly named Xbox 'One' is now on display for all to see, but has it won the current battle against Sony, who presented their own PS4 earlier this year?

If you read my review of Resident Evil 4, then I would ask you to forgive my whining. At the time, it was easier to control the orbit of Earth than to kill the first damn zombie in Resident Evil 1.

But since then, I finally tackled this grizzly beast of a game, and now we can knuckle down and review this monster of gaming history.

If you didn’t already know, Resident Evil is hailed as the huge revolutionary turning point of the survival horror genre, the genre being a not-exactly-popular blend of horror, Aztec-style puzzles, awful controls and extremely scarce ammo and health items. This is a time when a company as big as Capcom would actually release a game of this type before they were all outcast to the indie game market.
We’re here to celebrate the original 1996 Resident Evil, and I’m sure you’re asking, is its reputation deserved? Surely such an old game can’t really contend for the best in its field, even if it did popularise the style?

Hello there. I feel obliged to apologize for my lack of posting, but not obliged enough to offer up an excuse. Mind your own damn business, ya bunch of filthy stalkers...
More to the point, I feel obliged to share with you the TV shows that have been occupying most of my thoughts and life since I last posted. (However, to give you a full list would be insane, so I'm just going to share 2 with you for now because I am stingy sunuvvagun. (I will also try to hold back on the Americanisms as much as I darn tootin' can))

At a 2 hour press conference in New York City last night, streamed live on the internet for the rest of us, Sony finally unveiled their next generation console… the Playstation 4, coming ‘Holiday 2013’. Well, sort of…

(Rest below the break)

No, that's not a typo. The man behind the wonderfully average X-Men: The Last Stand, Tower Heist and the palatable Jackie Chan-starring Rush Hour 3 films has announced his sellout intentions with the intent of making an animated half-hour television series based on everyone's most irritating Facebook notification bug, Farmville.
"Farmville is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless. I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience,"
Whichever way you put it, Ratner's bound to be making a hefty profit from his newfound partnership with Zynga.
Here's to hoping it becomes an international Oscar-winning box office hit*.

P.S- In other news, Zynga has just posted a loss in excess of $200 million.

Director J.J. Abrams has been in the spotlight recently for a number of reasons, including the revelation that he will be the director of the next Star Wars movie.
This time, we are proud to reveal that he is in the 'early planning stages' with Valve to make films based on its game franchises.
After a handful of rumours and faffing, Abrams decided to set the record straight, saying:

"It's as real as anything in Hollywood ever gets. We are really talking to Valve, we're going to be bringing on a writer, we have a lot of very interesting ideas,"

All we know is that there'll be a frenzy of lens-flare expecting audiences waiting for their daily dose of Valve and Abrams mixed into one, and that it's definitely going to happen soon.

Over and out

The lens flare one-liners are flooding the internet in the wake of the news that, despite stating he would not be keen on directing the next Star Wars film (owned by Disney by the way, in case you’ve been living under a rock), JJ Abrams will indeed be taking the helm.

As an aspiring director, I would not personally ever wish to touch Star Wars with a ten foot pole. I have no vendetta against the series, but the danger of desecrating a legacy is just too terrifying to me.

This is part of the reason most will agree JJ Abrams is taking a risk by signing on for the as-yet-unnamed Episode VII. But nothing is certain, after all, Abrams managed to by-and-large avoid butchering the Star Trek franchise which must be a good sign.

You can probably expect a review of the film when it comes out. But that’ll be in 2015 so do something else in the meantime while you’re waiting.

Watch this space
